SWISD has communicated with the National Weather Service and other local school districts. Due to inclement weather, all SWISD campuses and related activities for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, will be closed. The SWISD Regular Board Meeting scheduled for today, Jan. 21, has been rescheduled as a Special Board Meeting on Friday, Jan. 24, at noon. We will continue to monitor road conditions. Elm Creek THIRD GRADERS are in the midst of an exciting reading challenge called the NCAA Read to the Final 4! Schools all over San Antonio are competing to read the most minutes over the course of several weeks. Each week, Mrs. Morgan collects the reading logs and submits the total number of minutes read by each third grade classroom. Our current round of reading ends on December 15th! Let's see how much we can read! (Logs are sent home each week, but you can print one from this post if needed.)

Veterans Day is coming soon! Elm Creek will be hosting a parade in honor of those who serve or have served. If you are Active Duty, Reserves, or a Veteran and would like to walk with your family member in our parade, please RSVP by 10/31 using the form link below.

It's time to plan for the Storybook Parade! The event will be held on 10/31 at 9:00. Dress up as your favorite book character...don't forget to bring your book!

Fifth graders from Mrs. Holmquist and Mrs. Tamayo’s classes spent the day at Starbase Kelly with Lt. Colonel Olga Custodio, the first Hispanic woman to fly with the Thunder Birds. Students also heard from author Lt. Colonel
Caroline Jensen, the 4th woman to fly with the Thunder Birds. The day was rounded out with the construction of student rockets!
