Ms. Lenton, a STEM Facilitator at Elm Creek Elementary, attended a training at the Botanical Gardens to receive a monarch butterfly condo that she was able to bring back to the classroom! In this month-long training program, participants received monarch caterpillars and got to experience the wonder of metamorphosis in their very own STEM classroom. Looking at the lifecycle of a monarch butterfly was extremely interesting to the students of Elm Creek, where they will be able to study all four stages of metamorphosis, name the butterflies, and eventually release them. Students will also be learning about migration patterns and how each phase of metamorphosis is important.
