About Us

Science and STEM Night is always a popular event at ECE! Countless families joined us for an evening of discovery. Students received a punch card upon arrival to track their station activities. After visiting at least 4 stations, students redeemed their punch cards for a trifold board to be used for their upcoming science fair project. Great minds are at work!

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Wendy Quillin! Mrs. Quillin is a Southwest ISD Principal in Resident. She will be joining the ECE Administration team to assist throughout the campus until December. Fun facts: Mrs. Quillin has Elm Creek history! Many years ago, she taught on our special education team. She then spent a number of years working as our assistant principal. And...both of her children are Elm Creek alumni! We're glad to have you back, Mrs. Quillin!

Getting educated in the water is what's up for our fourth graders this week! Students will visit the SWISD Aquatic Center 4 times this week and come away with new experiences!

Learning is an active process! Check out the our first grade scientists as they explored how heat changes objects…by making s’mores!

Our fifth graders have started the 5-week program in which they visit Starbase Kelly for unique learning opportunities. On the first day, they experimented with air pressure, measured the mass of objects using a triple beam balance, and observed physical properties with our micro vision using hand held microscopes!! Pictured here are students in Mrs. Saenz's class as they experimented with hydrophilic vs hydrophobic properties.

S.T.E.M. teacher, Mrs. Lenton, attended a training at the Botanical Gardens and received a monarch butterfly condo for our campus. In this month-long program, students will observe monarch caterpillars and experience the wonder of metamorphosis in our own STEM classroom!!! In a few weeks, butterflies will be named, tagged, and released for migration. Please see the flyers below for additional family activities. Stay tuned for updates in the next few weeks!

Coach Lockridge's 3rd-5th PE classes compete in a character building competition where it focuses on Communication, Humility, Accountability, Motivation, and Patience (C.H.A.M.P). The first class to spell out CHAMP receives the title belt for their grade level.

We’re a few weeks into school, and a SHOUT OUT to our admin team is long overdue! Assistant Principal, Dr. Aliano, and Principal Garza have been working tirelessly to launch the new school year and make sure we start with a strong foundation. Their commitment to students, staff, and families makes Elm Creek extra special…a place where so many people want to be! We’re so lucky to be part of their team! ❤️

Senior Walk was as wonderful as always! It was an honor to support this year’s graduating class…many of whom are former Elm Creek students. The sense of community was strong, and it’s hard to leave without feeling the excitement and camaraderie!
